About the role
PCA Ground Engineering is looking for experienced labourers to join our crews on active ground engineering and civil construction projects across Queensland. We’re specifically after people who have hands-on experience building gabion walls and are ready to get to work.
You’ll be working alongside experienced site teams on retaining wall and erosion control scopes, in varied site conditions. This is physical, outdoor work and we need people who take pride in doing it properly.
What you’ll be doing
- Installing and assembling gabion baskets, including placement, filling, and tying/lacing
- Manual handling of rock fill and compaction work
- Facing up basket with rock using internal bracing
- Excavation preparation and levelling for wall foundations
- Assisting with drainage, and associated civils works
- Following site safety requirements, SWMS, and supervisor direction
- Keeping work areas clean and organised
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated experience constructing gabion walls (essential)
- Current General Construction Induction (White Card) – essential
- Physically fit and able to perform sustained manual labour
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player
- Comfortable working on varied terrain and in outdoor conditions
- Valid driver’s licence preferred
- EWP, skid steer, or other plant tickets are an advantage
- Ability to work away from home
